Real Show Dogs Part Deux

Real show dogs have it made. Really, there is no better life for a dog that I've ever found. First, they get to be outside all day.

They have their people very well trained. Many carry them about...

They also get to ride in carts with the wind in their faces...

Or nap if they prefer...

But of course they're always free to get up and check things out...

Like seven week old mastiff puppies for sale...

Or Daschund puppies...

But maybe the best thing is getting to walk yourself anywhere you want to go anytime.

Real show dogs always have a smile on their face. This is Sister, she's eight years old.

Walks can always be interrupted for a wrestling match here and there...

Yeah, you'd be hard pressed to find happier dogs.

This guy's collar said Marley but we called him spook. He was huge but afraid of everyone. He must be new. I'm sure he'll figure it out soon enough.

Happy 4th of July!

As much as we love the beach, I think at least for Sarah and myself, the barn is still our favorite place. Well, Moe isn't at the beach. We might feel differently if that were the case.

After the barn we went to Puckett's to get a drink and pick up some home made foaccia bread. We saw this really cool car. Not sure what the make is but it was in perfect condition.

After Puckett's we stopped by the fireworks stand to get a few bits and pieces for the evening. Sarah was annoyed with me since all I wanted to get was "baby stuff" like tanks and spinners.

While we were there we met these two adorable puppies. They are ten weeks old here. They are going to be huge! Of course Sarah fell in love and wanted to take the quiet one home with her. Um, not happening, sorry.

This one was especially sweet and cuddly. I'd love to have a Bernese Mountain Dog, but we already have two more dogs than we need at the moment. Other people's puppies are always fun to hold.

Later in the day the rain moved in. Glen and Marla came over for dinner and to celebrate the 4th with us. Mike and Glen ended up grilling in the rain. It was a fun day though. Hope your's was good too!

Ah! Here's the video! This is Sarah and Moe the next day practicing their equitation. After the rains of the night before, Moe decided to roll in the mud. He isn't looking his prettiest here.

I caught this yesterday, the dogs were playing. The quality isn't great, I only used the regular camera. If I had gone for anything else they would have seen me and stopped to see what I was doing. You never know when I might hand out treats so it's always good the be on the alert.

Dog Prix

Grand Prix always inspire Dog Prix later in the day.

Not to worry, they love to do it and get loads of treats.

Real Show Dogs

This tiny creature attempted to attack any other dog that came within 5 feet of it. I know someone with a very similar disposition, he doesn't get to go to horse shows.

We see this one at almost every show. I need to get a video as it's best viewed in action for full effect. Cutie for sure.
These two are so cute.
This little guy, he's so sweet and just the weirdest mix, in a good way.
He always reminds me of a movie dog.

The white feet and black claws are are an especially nice touch.

Max Watching TV

You kind of had to be there, but I thought I would post this anyway. Max was sound asleep on the sofa when we switched the TV channel over to some dog agility trials and races. It immediately caught his attention and he sat, rapt, for quite some time. It was funny.

Dog Videos!

OK! So I took a couple of videos of the dogs during our walk out at the barn.

Pop, when you come back to visit you'll have to take them out to the creek, they just love it and Bubbles can go off the leash once she's away from the horses. Poor Max of course never gets off the leash.

The quality is not great, but it's just a regular camera, not the video camera.

Max's Day Out.

Max had a great day out at the barn, it was his first trip there. I couldn't leave him behind when it was time to go.

The weather today was the best it's been in a while; the dogs had a great time. There'll be no going back now, Max will be furious if I leave him behind in the future.

Baths were in order afterwards but they didn't mind after all their fun. Poor Max, he has to stay on the leash all the time.

He still had a ton of fun. Bubbles loves the creek more than anything.

Bubbles' Resolution

One of my resolutions for this year is to bring Bubbles to the barn any time I possibly can when Sarah rides.

The vet has been after me for a couple of years about Bubbles' weight. It's hard, because of her breed she really needs to run a lot to keep the weight off. Ever since we moved to Nashville she hasn't had enough exercise except when Pop comes to visit and takes her for walks twice a day.

Bubbles likes to run. And run. And run.

This is Bubbles heaven.

Oh yes, she likes to swim too.

On this day it was cloudy, windy and 35 degrees. No telling what the water temperature was. She didn't care.
